About the Recipe
This is a MillionDollarDelia elevation of traditional Mennonite/Amish white bread—pillowy, lightly sweet, and deeply nourishing. Simple ingredients. No shortcuts. Bread that feeds body and soul.

Ingredients
2 cups warm water (105–110°F)
⅔ cup raw honey (or organic cane sugar)
1½ Tbsp active dry yeast (2 packets)
¼ cup avocado oil, olive oil, or melted butter
2 tsp sea salt
6–6½ cups Farmer’s Storehouse organic all-purpose flour
(or half all-purpose + half bread flour)
Preparation
Instructions
1. Activate the yeast
In a large bowl, combine warm water + honey.
Stir in yeast and let sit 5–10 minutes until foamy.
2. Build the dough
Add oil and salt.
Stir in flour 1 cup at a time until a soft dough forms.
3. Knead
Turn onto a floured surface.
Knead 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic
(or 5–6 minutes in a stand mixer with dough hook).
4. First riseuuħcover, and let rise 1–1½ hours, until doubled.
5. Shape
Punch down dough.
Divide in half, shape into loaves, and place in greased loaf pans.
6. Second rise
Cover and rise 30–45 minutes, until dough crowns above the pan.
7. Bake
Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 28–32 minutes, until golden and hollow-sounding when tapped.
8. Finish
Brush tops with butter while hot.
Cool at least 20 minutes before slicing.
